I was born and raised in Romania until I hopped on a plane headed West in mid-2005. I obtained a B.A. in journalism and German at Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Va., where I also worked as a reporter, copy editor and anchor for The Rockbridge Report, the only local news website and television broadcast in the Rockbridge area.
I interned for newspapers and television stations in Romania and Berlin, Germany, and worked as a blogger and Web producer for Cloudbrain, a software and social media company in Charlottesville, Va.
In May, 2011, I earned a Master’s degree in journalism with a digital media concentration from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, where I covered Crown Heights, Brooklyn for The Brooklyn Ink and wrote about Chabad.
I have been working with NBC News in New York for about four years in various roles, most recently as a digital reporter on the breaking news desk. I’ve also written for NBCNews.com on topics ranging from Catholicism to wine investment, and helped produce TV and digital content for Nightly News and the Today show.
I can conduct interviews and write stories in at least four languages.
